Saturday Survey 2/6/10

Okay, you know these guys. The type of men that could read you the newspaper, and you’d still swoon. The Irish accent was recently voted the sexiest. There are so many that I’ve left off…so feel free to leave a comment and let me know your favorite.

What is it about accents? Is the American accent sexy to a European woman? These are the things that keep me awake at night folks. Well, that and some of these guys are just too sexy for words…but don’t stop talking boys, we love ya.

Saturday Survey 1/30/10

Okay, today’s Saturday Survey asks the age old question that keeps me awake at night.

Which is sexier, a cowboy or a fireman?

We’ve got two hard-working guys here, neither one is afraid of getting a little dirty, and they both have to tame wild beasts.

What do you think?

Blog Tour – Fill Your E-Reader Here!

So, you’ve found your way from Annie Nicholas’ blog! This is the last stop of the day, but of course you’re more than welcome to go back to the beginning at Paige Tyler’s site, and start all over again. I wouldn’t blame you at all. I’m giving away a copy of my contemporary novel For a Price, a story about what *really* happens in Vegas.

Anyone who knows me, knows my unhealthy crush on Mr. Channing Tatum. Even though he still has yet to show up to my house for dinner. That’s okay Chan…we can eat out…Oh, Mr. Tatum. How you tempt me with your stoicism.     I think there’s plenty of room on the back of that bike for me…maybe the front

Okay, so there are other things about Channing that I find tempting.

Oh, look at that, my hands were accidentally shown in the picture. And no, I will not share all the measurements I took *vbg*

I hope you all enjoyed the tour. Good luck to each of you! We’ll draw the winners tomorrow, and post them by 1pm EST in this Liquid Silver Books Forum Thread. Now, since you’re all done with the tour, please come by the Chat Room hosted by author Gem Sivad.

Short Stories

I just finished round one of edits for Position Secured, my short story at Samhain Publishing. It was fairly painless, but what do you expect from a short? I made a  few silly errors, so I’m glad that my editor Linda caught them before I embarrassed myself.  Also, I found out that Amanda Kelsey does cover work for Samhain, and I did a little happy dance. I’ll be requesting her handiwork on Position Secured, so cross your fingers that they’ll let me have her.

In other news, I’m about half-way through another short story, still untitled. Short stories are easier in some ways – if I concentrate, I could have one done in a few days – but it’s extremely hard to make a sensible plot and developed characters in 20k words. Someone once told me that a short story is just one long scene. I think that’s a pretty good way to look at it. I might throw a few flashbacks in there, or two semi-long scenes instead of one…who knows. This is new to me. I’ll never stop writing longer novels though; I really like getting into these character’s heads. As a reader I like to *feel* along with the heroine. Heartache, loss, love, fear…whatever she’s got going on. I like personal involvement. The trick is to write stories that do the same for my readers.

Okay, I’d better get back to work. 2009 was great for me, I hope 2010 is even better. Happy New Year everyone!

Wolf’s Tender

He's even yummier once you get to know him

Eppie finalist Gem Sivad’s newest release Wolf’s Tender is out today 11/16/09. I’ve got the buy link hooked to that book cover there which will be active this evening.

Those of you who’ve read Intimate Strangers already know what a master Gem Sivad is at historical western romances. One of the best things about Wolf’s Tender…it’s book one of a series. Thank you Gem! Here’s a blurb:

Rough and tough Charlie Wolf McCallister knows he needs to get laid, when even a spinster school teacher with a sharp tongue, starts looking good to him. But, cad that he is, he operates on the philosophy that a bird in hand is better than no bird at all. And so he offers to trade service for—servicing.

When Naomi Parker’s students are snatched from their school by marauding Comancheros, she can’t believe that she hid like a coward and let it happen. The only way to ease her conscience, and get the girls home safely, is to hire half-Kiowa bounty hunter, Charlie Wolf McCallister. His price seems a bit steep, to prim and proper Naomi who must choose between her virtue and her students’ lives.

When one straight-laced spinster, tenders her body, to one cynical sometimes savage, the unexpected bounty, is love.

Click HERE for a spicy excerpt (o-18)

Visit Gem’s website for more great romances by the master! You won’t be disappointed I promise.
